Time Flies When You're A Blogger

Chicks, a year ago today I started blogging and wrote my first post.  This chick is totally responsible for this madness I have gotten into.  She mentioned to me that I should start a blog and came over and held my hand and walked me through each step of the way I said I think I will.

So here I am a year later wondering what in the world I have gotten into and why? Like many of you I have a love,not so love relationship with the whole gig.   

And then there is the question that is always hanging out there.... should I continue? This chick covered that topic well in her post on tuesday and this one a couple of months ago.... 

I have always found it therapy to write out my thoughts, prayers, ideas, plans, goals & even struggles.  Maybe that is why I have kept up blogging for an entire year.  Or maybe it is because you inspire me, make me laugh, think deeper, challenge me & even make me cry.

For whatever reason I  just want to think you for the kind comments, for encouraging me, for putting up with my stories about Mr. Perfect.  And for even letting me be a little preachy at times.

What my personal blogging will look like this next year I don't know.....But I do know that you are an awesome network of women that I have grown better from being a small part of.

Don't Poo Poo This Give-a-way!

Remember how I went to New York to see my little sis in January?.....Yeah, right during the MAJOR  ice-storm that hit our area.

While we were in New York we went to the International Gift Fair.  My sister was there buying different products for their store.....I was helping her buy :)   

One of the vendors we came across was the sweetest little southern girl.  She picked up on my horrible long drawn out voice accent right away and we struck up a conversation and became "friends" very quickly.

I have to tell you about this product that she invented......it is a must for every household!   You will see why in a moment.

The name of the product is POO-POURRI.  This is what it looks like..

IT IS ALL IN THE BAG

OK, so sweet Lynette tagged me to post about the bag I am now carrying.....I have to say that this is the first tag that has been a little hard for me...

See I carry two bags......just in case.......the first bag, is my every day bag.....

I know it is quiet large but my lap top will fit in it......enough said.......right fellow bloggers?

Then the more important bag that stays ready at all times.

Those of you that read my blog know that this is better known as the Grammy To The Rescue Bag!

See my grandson Mr. Perfect might need me at a moments notice & I have to be prepared.  It is just the right size for an over night visit or two.

Both of these bags are by Latico Leathers.......which I happen to sell in my spare time when I am not blogging, grammieing, decorating, bible studying, gardening, & working on getting the apron off.

As a matter of fact I got a phone call this week from Mr. Perfect & he really needs Grammie to head his way soon.....See he has a new toy that he loves....

It is Noah's Ark and he REALLY wants Grammie to watch him play with it.  He thinks it is SO funny that the animals went in two by two.  He likes it so much that he decided to get new bedding on his bed.....

I was thrilled to hear about his love for Noah and the gang.......But the photo that really made Grammie know that she needed to go down and take control want to visit Mr. Perfect.....

Something to Cheer About

Kris Allen......American Idol talk here.  I know it may be immature and I could be blogging about other things but hey it is the weekend!

He is an Arkansas boy and a great Christian guy and I am pulling for him on American Idol.   He made it into the final group on last nights show!  I think I heard the whole state scream when they called his name.....or it could have been the thunder storm that was moving through....

Anyway..... I kinda know him......I mean my hubby works with his Aunt so you know.....I kinda know him.  If you watch the show and don't have a favorite yet keep an eye on him.

Oh one last thing that is totally non related.....Spring is only 20 days away! 

 Now that is something to scream about!

Two steps forward one step back

Chicks I have week 2 of my workouts behind me.  I am less sore than last week and I am feeling stronger.  I have to admit I am ready for bed around 8 every night and I have a bit of a cold.  I am sure it is do to all the stress my body is under from the shock of exercise!  

I thought I might even have a handle on my appetite until my door bell rang yesterday....

I might have this darn apron forever!

A Different Kind of "Apron"

I was informed this week by a friend, that when you carry weight below your belly button and above your...... ummmm, private area, that it is called an apron!  Well chicks, I have an apron!  Built-in for all to see.  

I have not always had an apron.  It snuck up on me this year.  In fact I think someone put it on me in the middle of the night while I was fast asleep.

SOOOOO to take care of this problem I have joined a gym.  I have week one under my belt...where the apron is.  Sore does not describe my state.  I am too weak to stand & too sore to sit and then get back up.  So I have been dragging myself around....with my apron of course...oh, it is a lovely site.

One of the reasons that the apron concerns me so is that I have a REALLY BIG birthday coming up in a couple of months.  And an apron just doesn't fit into the whole celebration.

My "plan" is that in the near future the only apron I will be talking about will be...

one I can fold up and put away..... like this!

Chicks Gather Around

We need to lift one of our "sisters" up to the Lord!  

I "met" Angie  in the blog world months ago and our spirits knit together very quickly.  I know you have all experienced this and it is part of the reason we are all still involved in this madness of blogging.

Just like you I never dreamed I would "meet" others that I would care and think about often during the day much less pray for....fervently! 

Angie is a young mother of 3 and is going through cancer for the 3rd time in 10 years! 

I copied this from her blog to let you know what her week will be like next week as she undergoes treatment....

I am undergoing treatment next week for my thryoid cancer recurrence. Because of the nature of the treatment and the high dosage I will be receiving, I will have to be isolated from my children for 2 weeks.

Yes, you read that right, two weeks!

For the first part of my dosage (beginning next Wednesday) I will not be able to be in the same house as they are. For the second, I will not be able to have any contact with them, but I will be able to see them.

 to get a full grasp of what she will be going through the next 2 weeks while many of us are carrying on with life as normal!  She is so brave and positive and has an awesome outlook.  Let's rally around her in prayer over the next 2 weeks!

A Good Laugh

I know life can be serious, hard and sad......Sometimes a good ole laugh is what makes it bearable.  Soooooo here we go.

Tying Up The Week

I am putting away the autumn decorations today and digging into Christmas!  But not before I do a little bloggy celebration with some really awesome awards passed on to me by some REALLY awesome bloggers.  It really does a heart good to get these things!

The first award is from Nicole.  This girls motto is Love God, Love Others.  It doesn't get any better than that!  She loves to bake but runs all those unwanted calories off!  She actually makes it sound fun!   Drop over and visit this cute, creative chick!

Now I am to name six things that make me happy.... I am going to refrain from using people because I would go way over six!

1.  My heated mattress pad.  For warming up those sheets at night! :)

2.  Long walks.....I can breathe in fresh air, get some exercise and have some great talks with God.

3.  Bible Study.....It is not something I have to do but get to do with some amazing women.  

4.  Road trip with the hubby....

5.  When Amazon delivers a new book to my door! 

6.  New P.J.'s!
