This is the last week in Feb. and I have to say I am really glad. Even though it is the month of "love" it is also one of the coldest months of the year and I am just not doing cold so well anymore. An age thing I am sure!
I am so ready to replace my winter gloves for gardening gloves, open windows, hear birds sing & enjoy longer days.
But for today I will pray for contentment in yet another week of cold, grey skies. Fighting the urge to allow the weather to determine my mood.... Enjoying this day without wishing for the next.......Slowing down and looking around for the blessings that this very day holds.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Ps 118v24
I JUST DISCOVERED YOUR BLOG AND I LOVE THE SCRIPTURE.
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH.
BLESSINGS

Winter gives us a new appreciation for spring and summer, doesn't it. I suspect that I might miss some of spring's beauty if I didn't have to go through winter first. (there's probably a lesson in there somewhere.)
enjoy the day!
love,
karen

I am planning to don my garden gloves this week. I have clean up work I never finished in fall! It is supposed to be nice Wednesday and maybe Thursday too unless it rains!
Two years ago I let the early spring fool me and put my bedding plants out two weeks early. I had more than one night of running out in my jammies and covering those tender babies. So, no planting for me until April 15th!

What a great attitude. I like what Karen said - winter gives us a deeper appreciation for spring/summer. That's what I'll remind myself on this cold day.

I can't really complain this week. Sunny all week here but it is freezing. I am ready for some warmer weather too. The ball park was so cold on Saturday.

I needed to hear that today. With the new snow over the weekend, it seems like spring is a looooong way off. Good reminder to enjoy today for the beauty and blessing it will hold. Thanks!

Spring is just around the corner. Here we have very hot windy conditions...so my garden seems so parched. But still I love summer and I am not at all keen for autumn to arrive at the end of next month.

I love the title of this post. And the content too, of course. But yes, embracing the day. Love it.
You could always *winter* in Arizona. We're expecting a high of 88 today. It's beautiful! Much easier to embrace those days I suppose. :)

Imagine if we looked at each day as you said...what joy we would have!
Thank you for the reminder.

I'm just thankful we didn't get the snow they were predicting for us this weekend. All we got was a little dusting!
Another favorite to remember when we get tired of winter is "And it came to pass..." Just think how many times these words are used in scripture. So yes, the winter will pass eventually!!
Have a great day!

I am so ready for Spring too but I love what you have written here and we should rejoice in everyday. Maybe I love Spring so much because I have to go through winter to get there. Good post!

I'm not doing cold as well as I used to, either, Jules. What a great post and I hope it warms up for you soon. :)

I love that Bible verse. I remember singing that verse as a song when I was a child. Perhaps every day would be better if I kept that song in my head AND in my heart!
Thank you and blessings.
