I was informed this week by a friend, that when you carry weight below your belly button and above your...... ummmm, private area, that it is called an apron! Well chicks, I have an apron! Built-in for all to see.
I have not always had an apron. It snuck up on me this year. In fact I think someone put it on me in the middle of the night while I was fast asleep.
SOOOOO to take care of this problem I have joined a gym. I have week one under my belt...where the apron is. Sore does not describe my state. I am too weak to stand & too sore to sit and then get back up. So I have been dragging myself around....with my apron of course...oh, it is a lovely site.
One of the reasons that the apron concerns me so is that I have a REALLY BIG birthday coming up in a couple of months. And an apron just doesn't fit into the whole celebration.
My "plan" is that in the near future the only apron I will be talking about will be...
one I can fold up and put away..... like this!
good luck to you with the gym. i have to get motivated about going next week - i need some energy big time!!!
have a blessed weekend (apron and all:)

Sorry to hear you're sore but good for you that you joined a gym!!!
Personally I've always thought aprons were highly overrated and they just get in the way.
I need to exercise more and work on my apron, too. I'll think about it and try now.

um...I think if I tried hard enough, I could fold my fat. Not so sure about putting it away in the drawer though. :)

oh I am so with you!!! On both counts, the apron and an approaching BIG birthday!

Take heart! I'm younger than you and I have had an apron since I had children. I think they grow on you after awhile (literally! ha ha) and if you learn to embrace it you don't have to make yourself all sore with exercise!

So that's what it's called huh? An apron. Well, I've been calling mine a cantelope, because that's how big my 'apron' is! But I'm working on it!

I to have a BIG birthday coming up next month! But sad to say my apron is probably here to stay. Funny, I have never heard it called that.

You go girl! So proud of you! I guess maybe I'll get back to walking today, but weights are way too committed for me.

An apron, huh? My Bella tried to pull up my shirt yesterday to see what was underneath, when she saw my "apron", she said, "Oooh, Mommy, I yike your squishy belly." Sigh. I am so ready to have the energy to work out again. Maybe we can fold up our aprons together. :)

I'd never heard it called an apron before. I have at least 3 aprons and it has a nickname "jelly belly". Send some of that motivation my way please.

good for you for joining a gym. eventually you'll be a "good sore" i promise. i actually enjoy the soreness i feel after an exercise class because it makes me aware that i'm doing something to make myself more healthy.

I joined a gym recently too : ). I have had an 'apron' my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE. Oh yes. Even in Kindergarten, I was fat, fat, fat. So, we'll see. I am not going to blog about it much though because its a depressing and non happy topic for me!
I will think of you this week while I am at the gym! My favorite thing about the gym is having time to pray when I am on the treadmill. I just whip my little book out and pray away : ).

I wish we lived closer! I need a workout buddy! I have an apron and then some!

Let me tell ya...this blogging sure doesnt help that apron! I am "softer" than ever since I started blogging. My "cozy" jeans aren't so cozy anymore...more like snug!

I too have an apron, and it is not the cute kind you wear while making a gourmet meal. I absolutely hate it!!! I blame it on my two C-sections, but I too think it happened while I was sleeping. LOL!!! I have not taken the step to join a gym. So proud of you. Have a great weekend. Leslie
