That is Mr. Perfect's new favorite saying.....Everything is "OH MY WORD!" It is wonderful to see his excitement over the small things in this old world. Of course nothing excites him like seeing his Grammy opening a gift or two or three....
Except for Grammy coming to his house. ;)
Evidently, Mr. Perfect has heard his mom or dad say "Oh My Word" quiet often and has caught on to the three word phrase himself.
I was reading in my quiet time this morning Proverbs 22: 6. A verse you are probably very familiar with. "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."
I have heard the verse explained so many different and really confusing ways. But I think it is relatively clear what the author was saying.
There is only ONE right way to train up a child and that is in the way's of God. What a child learns early is extremely important to the rest of his or her life. Even secular psychologist will not argue with that. Early training secures lifelong habits. Because of that parents & Grammies must be pro-active in teaching and modeling God's way. The ONLY one, true, right way.
We then must know His word ourselves and pray for the ability and conviction to live it out before them. It should be taught joyfully, courageously and without compromise consistently throughout the child's upbringing.
The promise from scripture of the end result gives us the passion and urgency we need.
Bottom line...... I am going to Mr. Perfect's house this weekend to hear him say this phrase myself. And I have a three word phrase to teach him too....
You guessed it already..........I love Grammy more than.... OKAY, maybe just....."I love Grammy!"

Your words are so true -- kids will learn everything and anything -- they are sponges! He is soo cute - enjoy your time with him:)

Oh my word, Mr. Perfect is brilliant! And I say that as someone whose blog pops up on the first page of Google if you type in the phrase "oh my lands."
